This is a nice museum that a lot of people miss. It's right on the main street, 129 Osborne Street, plain on the outside but a gem on the inside.
The archives and artifacts for all of Cumberland Island National Seashore are upstairs. Downstairs there are three rooms with historical exhibits. There are lots of objects on display, including huge carriages from the Gilded Era. Also, a War of 1812 exhibit. It's all free to the public, and the front desk is staffed by a friendly NPS volunteer.
