As a disclaimer, currently I am employed here. However, prior to this, my husband and I used Steve Turner at Watson to both sell and buy a house. He was professional, courteous, honest, and went out of his way through the whole process. His knowledge was a huge help in assisting us in determining the quality of home we were looking at when out seeing homes. Since working here and getting to know all our agents, I would happily recommend them to anyone. Our agents have their own expertise and personality, so they're not one-size-fits-all but with this group, you'll be sure to find the right agent for you. They're a great group of people who work hard and care for their client.
My first experience with a property manager was absolutely horrific. She told me that my house needed all this work done when in fact that was a lie. Seems she was just trying to make a deal for friends of hers. I know this because I had my boyfriend check the inside of the house and it was in great condition. It should be this way after she used $500 to clean my house which she probably was helping out another company that the she is friends with. The last straw was when she was trying to get me to almost renovate my whole house, come way down on the rent and not charge any pet fees? Needless to say I didn't agree and told her to move on to a different prospect. She quit. Blessing for me bc I had a back up that I probably should of used before Watson.
If I could give you any piece of advice, it would be DO NOT RENT from these people. Every fix will be a patch job and you will be calling about it again a month later. But the best part comes at move out. When we received our rental home, it was disgusting and hadn't been cleaned. We notated all of this on our move in inspection. When we moved out, we paid our break lease fee because we bought a home. And Watson is actually trying to charge me for carpet cleaning and other cleaning of the house!!!! Mind you, we left it in far better shape then what we received it. The day we moved in, my son who was crawling at the time, had black hands and knees from crawling on the carpet.
I've been with Watson for 3.5 years since I was stationed down here. Service for issues has always been prompt even when the roof had a leak in the first couple months. They even helped me negotiate an extension of my lease until my transfer when the owner wanted to sell a year ago. Always been friendly and helpful.
I really should have read these reviews first. I got screwed, and it was all in plain sight. I spent 3 weeks living out of a suitcase. My experience is with their top agent, Melanie Spencer. Let me just say that if I could have fired her, I would have, even if it meant losing the house. After looking at 12 houses in one day, Melanie wrote up a contract for us on a house we liked. I was reluctant, and wanted to read the contact before signing it. I traveled back home 4 hours the night she wrote and sent the contract, and I received it at 9pm while travelling. The next morning I began reading it and made notes of issues that I found and of articles I didn't fully understand. Most of the responses I got were "it's ok, just sign it" without further explanation. At that time I trusted her, which later proved to be my biggest mistake. Later on I received a counter offer which I agreed to everything except the closing date changed. I called and asked this to be changed, but her response was, again, "it's ok, just sign it". Another response to that was "don't worry, that date is very fluid and we can change that". Well, I asked why we didn't just change it so that the contract stated the day I wanted, and again it was "don't worry, just sign it". Less than a week before closing, I get told we're closing 3 weeks later, in accordance with the contract. Now, I feel as if at this point it would be important to note that I'm active duty military, and only have a short window to move my house. So when I sell a house in one place, I need to be able to move in to another house and set it up, because shortly after I will be busy performing my duties. Well, to make a long story short, I ended up without a house for three weeks. I spent so much money living out of a suitcase, money I really didn't have. My point is, you can NOT trust someone, especially when they push you into a contract (using my wife as leverage) and then lie to you about what's going to happen, but write contacts that state the otherwise. In the long run, it's my fault for signing the contract, but you CAN NOT let someone push you into a legal binding contract. I seriously wonder how these people can sleep at night being so crooked. All they care about is your money, and how fast they can get it.
